What is Shamanism?

Over tens of thousands of years, our ancient ancestors all over the world discovered how to maximize human abilities of mind and spirit for healing and problem-solving. The remarkable system of methods they developed is today known as "shamanism," a term that comes from a Siberian tribal word for its practitioners: "shaman" (pronounced SHAH-mahn).

Shamans are a type of medicine man or woman especially distinguished by the use of journeys to hidden worlds otherwise mainly known through myth, dream, and near-death experiences. (Taken from the Foundation for Shamanic Practice.)

Our Perspectives

Shamanism is the oldest spiritual practice on earth.

A primary principle of shamanic belief is that everything is alive and has a spirit.

All of life is spiritually interconnected.

This practice returns our spiritual autonomy by allowing us to access Divine wisdom and guidance

Four Nations Coalition of Indigenous Medicines

Our coalition is an organically evolving forum for integrated earth medicines.
Our goal is to promote health through public education, community development and healing journey support with the implementation of eco-ethics and the application of earth-honouring arts, sciences and technologies.
We create several types of forums to achieve this: through private sessions, inipis(sweat lodges), workshops, life-enhancing ceremonies, kid's programs, cross gender and cross-cultural mediation and community service projects.
In private sessions and ceremonies, we facilitate a healing journey through the power of the Great Spirit so that people may experience re-creation of mind, body, spirit and emotions.
We practice an integrated approach to healing and wellness for individuals and communities where indigenous medicine techniques commonly known as Shamanic Medicine are employed.
Shaman is a Siberian word simply meaning "healer."
Shamans are intermediaries or messengers between the human world and the spirit worlds. Shamanic medicine practises aren't voodoo or a modality of the New Age practise. These techniques are learned through a dedicated lifetime of experiential study.
We have studied and trained with indigenous Medicine people in North and South America for many years and consider our training a life long pursuit.
We currently base our practise near Nelson, B.C. and travel to Calgary and Vancouver to offer our services seasonally.
